On the heels of two days of long mountain bike rides, hikes, and soccer, Hayden and I decided to unwind by filling a Nalgene bottle up with wine and heading down to the local bocce ball courts (or maybe they're called "lanes?") Bocce on a cool evening is something I could really get into. I wonder what it would take to build a lane in my backyard?

You don't need no stinkin' court. Guerilla bocce can be played anywhere. If you play in public parks however, you tend to get treated like 'Jarts' players. Throwing heavy wooden balls around alarms people almost as much as steel tipped darts. Its more of a challenge too since who know how far away the little ball will land. Plus its a one handed sport so you can have a beer in the other hand
Ah, but there is something to be said for the greater throwing sensitivity and subtle touch that the packed lane requires. Although geurilla bocce on a putting green might be just the ticket!
