Minneapolis

I had a chance to visit Minneapolis this past weekend and really packed it in: bike rides, beers, Ethiopian food, kayaking, vintage car viewing, and visiting friends and family. Perfect weather.

Anywho, here are a couple pics from kayaking the lakes in the city:

Flooding

The floodwaters in Madison are getting higher by the day. The bike path alongside the Yahara under East Washington was in bad shape this morning:

Mallards

Ah, what could be better than grilling out and attending a Frontier League baseball game on a cool summer evening?

We started out as normal fans, but after our hands were exposed to radiation in a freak accident before the game we became obnoxious louts, taunting everyone from the opposing team's pitcher to the first base coach. Here's the crew looking tough:

Hulk Fist

I picked this little baby up at the Madison Mallards baseball game last Friday. It's a Hulk fist specifically drilled out for a 24-ounce PBR silo can, which is good because those giant PBRs get nasty when they get warm on a hot summer night. Best drinking accessory ever.

One more...

My dad just reminded me of this Badger versus Sioux rumble as well.

Sometimes I wonder who these guys are that 1. have videotapes of college hockey games from 1982, 2. possess the technological knowhow to transfer VHS footage to digital format and 3. feel compelled to upload such footage to YouTube.

Whoever they are, they are truly doing God's work:

Wedding and Hockey

I was going to do a blow-by-blow post on the wedding I attended last weekend but I seem to have misplaced the pictures, which would have made it at least mildly interesting, so I'll keep it brief:
+ Wedding was in Madison so no driving was required
+ Short ceremony in pretty setting
+ Good live band
+ Meatless entrees
+ Open bar
+ 13 or so varieties of cake

In other news, the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup last night and that prompted me to check out a whole slew of old hockey clips on YouTube, which eventually led to seeing some classic brawls.

First, a couple from old Ron Hextall:

Here we have the Boston Bruins jumping into the stands:

And finally you have this fan who jumped over the glass and got too close to the Sabre's bench:
